I usually get the panic/blues around October anyway when I wonder if my students will learn anything in the year but I don't know... this year seems worse somehow. Maybe I just don't remember what it's like at the beginning of the year but do they really always know such a LITTLE amount?!! It's discouraging at times. I still think I'm enthusiastic but I don't seem to be able to really engage my kiddies' thinking or get them excited - we've only been in school two weeks.
